Brian Jarvis is president and owner of WV News, publisher of The Exponent Telegram, The State Journal, Blue & Gold News, Fairmont News, Bridgeport News, Weston News, Preston News & Journal, The Garrett Co. Republican, Your Bulletin Board and NCWV Life magazine, with headquarters in Clarksburg, West Virginia, as well as offices in Fairmont, Morgantown, Kingwood, Charleston and Oakland, Maryland, as well as an investor in the Charleston Gazette-Mail. WV News has a combined print circulation of over 120,000 households per week and a digital audience of over 3.5 Million monthly pageviews and more than 800,000 monthly unique visitors reaching more than 60% of West Virginians. He is a highly-successful entrepreneur with an expertise in digital marketing and tax management, leading WV News to unprecedented growth in print and digital markets throughout West Virginia, since buying the company in 2012 (at the age of 29 years-old). He holds an undergraduate degree in business from Furman University, a law degree from West Virginia University and a Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Florida. He is a member of both the West Virginia Bar and Florida Bar. Brian is actively involved in the communities served by WV News. He has served on the following Board of Directors: United Hospital Center; Harrison County Chamber of Commerce; United Way of Harrison County, and the Harrison County YMCA. He also serves on the PAGE board and America’s Newspaper board. WV News is also actively involved in The West Virginia Press Association, Harrison Co. Chamber of Commerce, Lewis Co. Chamber of Commerce, Marion Co. Chamber of Commerce, Greater Morgantown Chamber of Commerce, Preston Co. Chamber of Commerce and Garrett Co. (MD) Chamber of Commerce. Brian has served as an expert speaker in Print & Digital transformation and diversification to the following industry groups in the past 24 months: Inland Press Association (August 2017), Pennsylvania Press Association (November 2017) and New York Press Association (April 2018). Brian continues to practice law as a solo practitioner, with expertise in estate planning, mergers, acquisitions, taxation and oil and gas. Brian currently owns an oil and gas plugging company that plugs abandoned wells in WV, PA and OH. Additionally, that company operates about 300 wells in West Virginia. He and his wife, Rachel, who is also a practicing attorney, have two daughters, Evelynn and Eleanor.
