Our Vision

Healthy Harrison believes everyone deserves the opportunity to live a longer, healthier, and more fulfilling life.

Healthy Harrison is a community-driven initiative working to measurably improve health and well-being across Harrison County and beyond. We focus on helping people build simple, sustainable habits — one small step at a time.

We define a **Hero** as anyone who chooses to be a champion for health — not through perfection, but through consistent, everyday decisions. Each person’s journey is different, but we all share the same goal: feeling better today and building a healthier future.

Our vision is to measurably improve the health and wellness of our community by motivating, educating, and supporting people as they take small, achievable steps toward healthier living.

The Five Healthy Harrison Pillars

Healthy Harrison is built around a simple truth: small habits, practiced consistently, lead to meaningful change. We focus on five core pillars that support whole-person health. These pillars guide our programs, tools, and partnerships.

Move

Move

Healthy people embrace movement — not necessarily intense exercise, but regular physical activity that fits real life. Even small amounts of movement can add years to life expectancy and improve daily well-being.

Group of Friends

Connect

The people we surround ourselves with influence our habits and health. Positive connections, encouragement, and shared accountability are often the strongest drivers of lasting change.
Mindfulness

Mind

Mental and emotional well-being are essential to long-term health. This pillar includes mindfulness, gratitude, optimism, faith, rest, and the ability to slow down and enjoy life.
Eating Healthy

Eat

Healthy eating isn’t about extremes. It’s about making better daily choices — eating more plant-based foods, reducing excess sugar, and building awareness of what fuels our bodies.

Purpose

Having a reason to get up each day matters. People with a sense of purpose are more resilient, motivated, and healthier over time.

A Simple Tool That Helps Turn Intention Into Habit

The Change Your State Web Platform

Launching Summer ’26

Healthy Harrison offers a simple habit-tracking tool designed to help people build healthy routines without pressure or perfection.

Participants choose small daily goals across eating, movement, and mental well-being — then track progress, earn points, and reinforce positive habits over time.

This tool is used as part of school, community, and workplace initiatives and is designed to support long-term behavior change.

Goals include things such as: Make my breakfast, Add one vegetable, Check added sugars, Pack my lunch, or Drink more water for the Eat category.

These goals are intentionally small — because small wins build confidence, consistency, and momentum.

Proven, Community-Based Impact

Since launching in 2016, Healthy Harrison has partnered with schools, healthcare leaders, nonprofits, employers, and community organizations to pilot programs, measure outcomes, and scale what works.

Our approach combines:
– trusted local voices
– evidence-based practices
– coaching and encouragement
– real-world data and results

We believe health improvement should be practical, inclusive, and achievable for everyone.
