Born and raised in Mobile Alabama

Attended Auburn University and received a B.S. in Biology – Summa cum Laude – 1982

Graduated from the University of Alabama School Of Medicine – 1986 with his Medical Doctor degree

Upon graduation from medical school, he moved to West Virginia and undertook a residency in Family Medicine at United Hospital Center Upon completion of his residency he became board certified by The American Board of Family Medicine, a status he maintains today.

Married the former Debby Cross in 1989 with two sons: Cameron, age 27 who works for the United States Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources in Washington, DC/ Connor, age 13 who is in his second year of law school, at The University of Cincinnati
